SCP builds quality products to last and use for a lifetime. We combine old world workmanship with modern day production, creating carders that are second to no other carder in the industry.
Our frames are built of U.S. hardwoods that are kiln dried by Hogge Millwork. Materials may be ash, oak and hickory. The product is submerged in linseed oil to penetrate material for a life of beauty by sealing for long wear and protection.
Steel shafts are epoxied in drums, then spun on a fixed axis to a true radius making the outer cloth uniform to center. The shafts are mounted on sealed ball bearings then mounted in adjustable Hickory bearing blocks. Our standard carder makes a thick batt 9″ x 22″, while our jumbo carder makes a batt size 9″x36″.
